Chinese National Adviser

I am the National Chinese Adviser in New Zealand, which is a part of the ILEP team of languages advisers  to support the teaching and learning of Chinese in NZ schools. The position is co-appointed by the Ministry of Education of NZ and of China. I also work in close association with Chinese Embassy and the Consulate – General of China.

Glenda Palmer

French National Adviser

I am employed by Uniservices as part of the ILEP contract team of languages advisers to support schools and teachers to implement the Learning languages curriculum area of the NZC.  I work in close association with the cultural and educational departments at the French Embassy and other supporting bodies such as NZAFT.

Heike Papenthin

German National Adviser

Mein Name ist Heike Papenthin und ich bin direkt aus dem hessischen Schuldienst hierher nach Neuseeland gekommen. Geboren bin ich im hohen Norden Deutschlands, in Flensburg. Aber ich hatte viele Stationen in meinem Leben, u.a. habe ich in Berlin, Kopenhagen, Tokyo und Sapporo gelebt.

Tomoko Semba

Japanese National Adviser

Hi, my name is Tomoko. I was appointed by the Japan Foundation as the National Japanese Adviser and arrived in New Zealand at the beggining of 2011. This is my first experience living in the Southern Hemisphere. Alongside the other National Language Advisers, I am part of the ILEP advisory team.

Pablo Mateu Garcia

Spanish National Adviser

I have been part of the Education Services of the Spanish Embassy in Wellington since February 2012. As the Spanish Adviser in New Zealand I am part of ILEP advisory team and therefore linked to the New Zealand Ministry of Education. I have worked as a language teacher, a teacher trainer and a language advisor in Spain, UK and USA. I am a language enthusiast and I will do my best to support teachers of Spanish.
